About This Course
With urban populations expected to increase significantly, there is a pressing need for more people planting churches and making disciples in urban centers. This course draws lessons from APC's own journey and global leaders to explore strategies for urban church planting.
We discuss the opportunities and challenges of urban ministry, address the personal preparation required for church planters, and explore spiritual dynamics, practical strategies, and future preparedness for urban church growth.
What You Will Learn
Some of the main themes we cover in this course include:
- Introduction: God's heart for cities, natural and spiritual dynamics of urban centers, and personal journey.
- Practical Aspects: The survey, preparation, and launch phases; strategies for urban evangelism; multiplication and growth models.
- Spiritual Aspects: Spiritual warfare, praying for transformation, proclaiming the Gospel with power, and equipping the saints.
- Personal Life: Recognizing the call to pioneer, personal preparation, and making the journey.
- Future Projections: The future of urban life and the urban church; preparing for what lies ahead.
Course Evaluation & Grading
Students will be given graded assessments during the Semester. Each of these assessments will be in reference to all content covered till that point in the course.
